Harry Potter actor Nick Moran underwent urgent surgery after discovering neck discomfort indicated a serious condition. Moran portrayed the villain Scabior in both sections of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He also appeared in Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Accident Man, and The Musketeer. According to Terry Stone, who says he is a friend of Moran's, the actor experienced neck pain and although his partner suggested medical attention, he just applied deep heat cream. Stone said Moran finally visited his doctor and soon found himself in the emergency room being told he needed surgery for a condition doctors called "life-threatening."

Stone explained to MailOnline: "I talked to one of his relatives and he injured his neck somehow which affects his spinal cord and functions controlling speech and legs."

Stone added that medical staff informed Moran that without the procedure, he might lose his ability to walk or speak.

The actor underwent the operation, where surgeons cut into his spine and extracted four neck bones.

Providing an update on Moran's condition, Stone told the publication: "He's recovering but doctors warned before surgery that he might never walk or talk again, which was distressing. His health isn't perfect, but after the operation I felt relieved because I think he decided he'd prefer losing mobility or speech over dying."

Stone continued: "They substituted his neck bones with synthetic ones. It was delicate surgery because numerous nerves around the neck and spine made the operation complicated with those terrible risks of speech or mobility loss."

Following Stone's statements, Moran's representative issued a comment to UNILAD stating that while some incorrect information circulated about the actor's health, he did have surgery "just over a week and a half ago" and is now at home, "walking, talking, and making a complete recovery."

"Nick will restart work on his upcoming film soon and looks forward to returning to the studio for his full schedule," he said. He further stated: "Nick wants to thank everyone who sent good wishes and assure them that he is doing well and grateful for their support."
