Celebrities savagely call out all female Blue Origin launch claiming there's 'other things important in the world right now'
Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin all-women trip to space has faced criticism from various celebrities for being insensitive to current world issues. Therapy might seem costly at a dollar per hour, but Blue Origin's all-female spaceflight makes it look inexpensive. For just four minutes in space and an 11-minute round journey, six women - including Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez - became the first all-female crew to visit space since Valentina Tereshkova in 1963. The price tag for this brief space experience? According to Pocketmags, seats cost between $64 to $88 million each. Multiply that by six passengers and the total reaches $384,000,000 to $528,000,000 - excluding additional expenses. This enormous sum has quickly drawn reactions from other famous individuals.
During an April 3 episode of "Today with Jenna and Friends," "New Girl" actress Olivia Munn questioned the purpose behind the all-women crew's actions, as reported by Page Six. She elaborated: "I understand this might not be the popular opinion, but numerous critical issues exist in our world right now. This may sound annoying, but the cost to travel to space is enormous, while many people struggle to buy eggs."

"What's the purpose? Is your ride truly historic? I find it somewhat excessive," she stated. The actress argued that space exploration typically aims to "advance our knowledge and benefit humanity." She asked: "What will they accomplish up there that improves conditions for us down here?"
Munn wasn't alone in her criticism. Comedian Amy Schumer also mocked the spaceflight on Instagram the day of the launch. Schumer jokingly told her followers: "Guys, at the last minute, they added me to space and I'm going to space. I'm bringing this item that means nothing to me but was in my bag when I was on the subway and received the text."
She sarcastically called Perry, Sanchez and Newam her "guiding lights" through the "journey" and added: "How high were the people who named space? They were like, 'What should we call it? There's so much space' And they said, 'That's it.' That's the best name they created? Space? But okay."
"I'm heading there and can't wait." "Don't Worry Darling" filmmaker Olivia Wilde also shared a meme of Perry on her story with the caption: "Billion dollars purchased some excellent memes I suppose."

Participants of the flight have responded to the negative remarks. King explained to People that "critics don't truly grasp what's occurring here" considering the "reaction" the team has gotten from "young women" and "girls."
She further stated: "It really gets me passionate. I'd welcome them to visit Blue Origin and observe the thousands of workers who not only have jobs here but invest their complete dedication into this spacecraft."
