Returning to executive power, Donald Trump has demonstrated his intention to govern differently than former Democratic president Joe Biden. His recent decision to impose significant tariffs on global nations has created shockwaves, with allied countries preparing for the consequences of this policy. Harris appeared to reference this uncertainty-induced anxiety during her address at the Leading Women Defined Summit in California this week (April 3).

During her speech, she emphasized the importance of bravery despite this fear and cautioned about additional challenges ahead under Trump's leadership. She stated: "When one person, when a few stand with the courage, that is the courage exhibited by the leaders in this room every day.

"To have the courage to say I feel fear, the courage to say what is happening is wrong, the courage to say that there is a way that we must chart to get through this.

Harris proceeded to criticize Donald Trump's administration and their governance approach. She added: "We are seeing organizations stay quiet, we are seeing those who are capitulating to clearly unconstitutional threats, and these are the things that we are witnessing each day in these last few months in our country.

"It understandably creates a great sense of fear because you know there are many things we knew would happen, many things...

Representative Jamie Raskin discussed Harris' speech and increasing frustrations toward Trump's team with MSNBC's Jen Psaki.

He shared similar views to Harris and responded to voter criticism that Democrats had 'vanished' since the election defeat. He remarked: "I was telling everybody back when they were complaining about 'where is the Democratic leadership...it takes a while to fully absorb the shock of these events.

"We are discussing a complete attempt at an authoritarian seizure of our nation and a removal of federal employees and we face attacks from all directions.
