Mickey Rourke responds to Bella Thorne's on-set injury allegations

Mickey Rourke has answered Bella Thorne's accusations that he wounded her private parts during a movie shoot.

Rourke received criticism for his anti-gay remarks toward his Celebrity Big Brother co-star, JoJo Siwa. The Iron Man 2 actor questioned the 21-year-old performer about her sexual preferences, and she stated she was attracted to women and had a non-binary partner. The 72-year-old then remarked: "If I stay longer than four days, you [Siwa] won't be gay anymore."

She countered: "I can guarantee I'll still be gay and I'll still be in a very happy relationship," to which Rourke replied: "I'll tie you up." He later commented about how he was 'going to vote the lesbian out real quick', which JoJo labeled 'homophobic'.

After this exchange, Rourke was summoned to the diary room and given a warning by Big Brother, who stated: "Further language or behavior of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house." He subsequently apologized to Siwa, which she accepted.

Siwa's partner and mother shared their own responses to the incident, but Bella Thorne also added her opinion. After seeing a clip of the conversation between Rourke and Siwa, Thorne posted on Instagram criticizing the former boxer, who she had worked with in the 2020 film, Girl.

"This f***ing dude. GROSS. I had to work with this man – In a scene where I'm on my knees with my hands zip-tied around my back," she shared on her Instagram Story this week.

"He's supposed to take a metal grinder to my kneecap, and instead he used it on my genitals thru my jeans. Hitting them over and over again."

Thorne added that the incident left her with 'bruises on [her] pelvic bone' and described working with Rourke as 'one of the all-time worst experiences of my life working as an actress'.

Following her claims, Rourke's representatives have responded with a statement to Variety, where the actor firmly denied her accusations.

"These allegations are extremely serious. Mr. Rourke adamantly denies any intentional misconduct. He was not made aware of any such concerns during filming and had no previous knowledge of Ms. Thorne's discomfort until now," a spokesperson for Rourke said.

"Out of respect for all parties and given the seriousness of the claims, Mr. Rourke will not be making further public comment at this time. He remains willing to cooperate with any appropriate inquiry through the proper channels."

"We affirm the right of every performer to feel safe and respected in their work environment."

ITV announced that Rourke had been asked to exit CBB because of 'further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior'. A spokesperson stated:

"Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior."

According to ITV, an alleged dispute occurred between Rourke and Love Island star, Chris Hughes. They report that while no physical confrontation happened, the actor's language was 'threatening and aggressive'.
