Trump reveals shocking reason he really wants Greenland as he claims he'll get it 'one way or another' in damning threat
Donald Trump has consistently demanded that Greenland, an autonomous region within Denmark's Kingdom, should become part of the US since he took office. Although the Danish and Greenlandic authorities have repeatedly stated Greenland isn't for sale, Trump remains confident in his eventual success. Relations between these nations and America have recently deteriorated after JD Vance visited a US base in Greenland without prior notification. Regarding this unexpected visit, Greenland's Acting Prime Minister Mute Egede clarified: "Just for the record, the government of Greenland has not extended any invitations for any visits, neither private nor official."

In a recent conversation with journalists at the White House on Friday (March 28), Trump explained his motivation for pursuing Greenland so aggressively. During the Oval Office meeting, he stated: "We need Greenland. Very importantly, for international security, we have to have Greenland. It's not a question of, 'Do you think we can do without it?' We can't."
Trump further explained: "If you look at Greenland right now, if you look at the waterways, you have Chinese and Russian ships all over the place, and we're not going to be able to do that. We're not relying on Denmark or anybody else to take care of that situation."
He continued: "And we're not talking about peace for the United States. We're talking about world peace. We're talking about international security. And right now you look at it, you have warships all over the place going through, right along Greenland."
This represents a continuation of Trump's vocal desire for acquiring the territory. While addressing a joint session of Congress earlier this month, Trump delivered a message to Greenland's citizens with somewhat threatening undertones: "We strongly support your right to determine your own future. If you choose we welcome you into the United States of America."

Discussing his aim to acquire Greenland, he added: "I think we're going to get it – one way or the other, we're going to get it... We will keep you safe. We will make you rich and together we will take Greenland to heights like you have never thought possible before."
