Elon Musk reveals fear of being assassinated by 'desperate' people as he tries to 'uncover corruption'
Elon Musk has confessed his role with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) might create assassination risks because individuals are 'hearing his name frequently'.
The 53-year-old executive currently leads DOGE—a short-term group created on the first day of President Donald Trump's second term (January 20). This group aims to reduce federal costs, has vowed to significantly decrease the United States' national debt ($36.22 trillion), and intends to return funds to taxpayers. Within 42 days, DOGE has terminated various federal agreements, shut down agencies, and cut independent research contracts at the Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences.

Musk states his goal as DOGE's 'head' and Trump's Senior Advisor is to 'find corruption' in the US. He has previously indicated he provides 'complete transparency' to the organization's 'practical' approach to cost-cutting.
The Tesla CEO recently visited Joe Rogan's podcast, where he stated that working with the US government is the 'most unexpected result' he could have imagined for his career.
Near the conclusion of their three-hour discussion, Rogan asked the billionaire if he would address insider trading and corruption in the capital.
"This will likely get me killed. I'm not extending my life by explaining these things," he told Rogan. "I was supposed to return to DC. How will I stay alive?"
Musk said he must be 'careful' and not 'press too hard on corruption issues' because he thinks it will get him 'murdered'.
"People become desperate," he explained before revealing two men had previously come to Austin intending to kill him.
"Two different cases. One believed I'd inserted a chip in his head."

"Both men basically suffered from serious mental illness... This happened before the heavy propaganda wave. The chance that any violent person will try to harm you relates to how often they hear your name."
"They heard about me often. So I became the target for two violent individuals who were arrested and held in Travis County jail simultaneously."
Musk stated both men have since been freed and wear electronic devices that track their locations.
"At this point, I think I'm the primary target for many violent individuals," he added.
